Do you want to be more productive?
One way to become more productive is to become a better decision-maker.
One of the biggest causes of low productivity is the inability to effectively make decisions.
That’s why I put together 3 decision-making rules. One member of my team calls them…
“The Decision Trifecta”
The ability to follow these 3 rules has been one of the key contributors to my own business success and to the success of my most successful coaching members throughout the years…
RULE #1: Make decisions faster.
There are some key advantages to being the decisive business owner that quickly and confidently makes decisions and moves on the the next step, as opposed to the business owner that stresses and wrestles to make decisions over the course of days, weeks, or months.
Do you know that one study found that, better than 9 times out of ten, people who take a long time to make decisions end up making the exact same decision they would have if they had taken action immediately? That is to say, they took a ton of extra time to consider and act upon a decision they were initially compelled to make in the first place.
Practice making decisions quickly. Will you always make the right decision? No (but neither will the person that spends two months to make the decision).
That brings us to…
RULE #2: Make better decisions.
When you quickly make decisions, you’ll more quickly gather data on the results of those decisions. That knowledge and experience allows you to course-correct if needed, and continue taking action and making progress.
And when that decision or a similar decision come up again? You’ll be armed with the wisdom to make a better one.
And that ties into…
RULE #3: Don’t let bad decisions slow you down.
It’s time to re-frame the way that you think about “bad” decisions.
Don’t beat yourself up over having made a bad decision (and don’t let the world beat you up when you make one either).
Bad decisions aren’t about letting your past mistakes slow you down, they are about taking the opportunity to learn from the mistakes so you can have a better future.
And that’s The Decision Trifecta!
So what’s the top decision in your business or life that you’ve been putting off?
